Carlos Braga is a partner at Brasilpar since 2020 where he is responsible for Debt Structuring & Corporate Finance Advisory. Braga has more than thirty years of financial markets experience in the areas of Investment Banking, Private Equity, Debt Structuring and Liability Management. He was Directly involved in more than 25 Structured Debt transactions totaling more than USD 15 billion. Prior to Brasilpar he served as VP Finance for Private Equity Firm Artesia Capital Management, Royal Bank of Scotland´s CEO for Brazil and as Managing Director for ABN AMRO`s for Latin America where he worked for 20 years in Brazil and abroad.
Braga has a MBA from IBMEC Business School. A Post Graduation in International Trade from UCLA. He is also a Guest Professor from Dom Cabral Business School. Co-author of The Rise of Brazilian Multinationals and Risk Management in Financial Markets and Board Member from companies in Brazil and abroad.
Braga has longstanding experience in Liability Management & Debt Restructuring acting as an advisor or creditor with successful track record with clients from Telecom, Commodities, Construction, Retail, Industrial among other sectors. He was also a senior member of the ABN AMRO team that won Euromoney’s Best Debt House 2007 & IFR’s Best Loan House 2006 Latin American awards. MD responsible for ABN AMRO´s team that won IFR’s 2006 “Deal of the Year” award for the USD2.200 Ashmore Prisma LBO Transaction and pioneered the Brazilian market arranging the 1st BNDES Exim Project Financing for Petrobras EVM project (US$1,2bln) in 2001.
He is married, has two children (twins), enjoys wine, reading and good friendship.
