Fernando Sotelino

Background

Based in New York-NY, Fernando is Adjunct Professor of international banking and business strategy for financial institutions at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA). Before moving to New York, he was co-CEO of Unibanco, then Brazil’s third largest private sector bank. At Unibanco, he acted as head of the Wholesale Banking Group and as chairman of the board of the international banking and brokerage subsidiaries in the U.K., U.S., and Latin America. Fernando also worked for Citibank as Managing Director responsible for M&A advisory and private equity in Brazil and for Crocker Bank (San Francisco, California), dedicated to corporate advisory and project finance in the U.S., Latin America and Asia. He holds an MA in Economics and an MBA from Stanford University, an M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering and a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
