Background

Márcio Fiuza is a partner at brasilpar since 2015, where he is responsible for origination and execution of M&A and corporate finance advisory.

 

Before joining Brasilpar, Marcio was a founding partner of Vergent Partners, where he completed over R$15 billion in transactions over a 13-year period in several industries.

Before founding Vergent Partners, he was Vice President in the Global Communications Group of Bear Stearns, in New York, from 1997 to 2001.

 

From 1985 to 1997, he worked at Vale do Rio Doce in various positions including assistant to the chief financial officer of California Steel Industries and corporate strategic planning in the company’s headquarters in Rio de Janeiro.

Experience

Advised Zoetis in the divestiture of its Guarulhos Pharmaceutical plant to União Química and advised Kuehne Und Nagel in the sale of its road freight business in Brazil to BBM.

 

Worked on the sale of Terna Participações to Cemig for R$2.3 billion, and the sale of Cia Providência to a consortium of private equity funds for R$930 million.

 

Worked on Telefonica’s acquisition of ZAZ, Embratel’s spin-off of StarOne and minority sale to SES, and the follow-on equity offering and high yield offering for Tricom.

Márcio has an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the Federal University of Minas Gerais

 

He is the proud father of two girls, both graduated in business administration.
